"Claire Cat" Moonlight & Roses by Marta E. Peters
Stars are all around this Cat. Stars on her pantaloons, Star on her little bag, Star drawn next to her name on back of tag, Star painted on face near eye! Wearing blue and white striped dress with old linen collar and apron ( I think the small stains on the apron are from using vintage material by artist). A cute straw hat decorated with seashells and flowers, inside her little bag also shells. Gold painted on shoes. Claire Cat is about 20" long.
Moonlight & Roses was a little store in Signal Hill in Southern California owned by Artist and Dollmaker Marta E. Peters. I searched and searched but could not find any dolls available for sale or in collections online, but many places said Marta started out as a doll-maker. I did find she past away in 2006, so I do not know when the doll was made. Her line of vintage style decor is still available online by the same Moonlight & Roses name. I could not find comparable dolls to price this doll, so I will start the auction at the price on the original tag and go from there.
