VINTAGE 1950s PENGUIN PINEAPPLE SHERBET ICE CREAM BOX GEORGE F. OTTO CORP

This is a vintage box, or carton. It pictures the obscure advertising character, "Penguin Pete", and is marked: "PENGUIN PINEAPPLE SHERBET...CONTENTS ONE QUART LIQUID...DISTRIBUTED BY THE GEORGE F. OTTO CORP., PITTSBURGH, PA." It is not dated, but from the pre-printed 39 cent price, I would "GUESS" this was made in the 1950's - give or take. It measures approximately 8 inches long. It is 3 & 1/8 inches tall, and just under 2 & 1/2 inches deep. The condition is EXCELLENT, with some minor soiling and yellowing. I'm not sure it was ever used. (If it WAS used, it was carefully washed and stored afterwards.) The colors are bright, and it displays beautifully. A great addition to any collection of penguins, advertising characters, ice cream & soda fountain items, supermarket / grocery store collectibles, or food related items.
