This
United Farmer's of New England Dairy Products
wood box advertising milk crate,
was most likely realized before the outbreak of
WWII
or shortly thereafter, having been produced
from 1935, to as late as possibly 1955.
It features all wood construction, nailed corners, a square, cube-like form, cut-out, built-in side lifting/carrying handles and tin edge reinforcing stacking strips, nailed to the corners of the box, allowing the box to be constantly moved and stacked in trucks, coolers and in warehouses, without damaging the wood sides and permitting many boxes to be stacked sturdily on top of each other, without fear of falling, several layers high. There's some minor to moderate paint diminishment and surface scuffing, as a result of the short sidewalls being previously constantly handled and slid across other boxes or against truck and warehouse walls. This occurs on two sides of the box. The other two sides are great and nearly unblemished. With just fantastic, rich, bright, saturated red and yellow enamel paint. A great
vintage wood box advertising dairy crate.
Need a little color to spice up your kitchen or family room? How about a little 'eye candy' for your home? A clear upgrade from the plastic extrusion, grid-like dairy boxes we've all become accustomed to seeing and not exactly objects you'd decorate your home with, as you would with this one. Is it time for an attitudinal shift in your decorating sensibilities? The great omnipresent and omniscient 'decorator in the sky' suggests some bright colors to cheer you up and give your interior space, a decidedly more positive psychological tenor and atmosphere. Your pets, who are largely cooped up all day indoors, will appreciate the sudden shift in your decorating demeanor and wonder what's gotten into you?
CONDITION:
