    Description

Here I offer set of 13 new cassette walkman belts of different sizes suitable for most walkmans of various brands, like Sony, Panasonic, Aiwa, Sharp, Kenwood.
The majority of belts offered here on eBay are too thick and therefore unusable.
My belts are only 0.024''(0.5 mm - 0.6mm) thick, the same as original. With these belts you can replace any original belt in the range of 0.8'' to 2,9'' (20 - 74 mm)
These belts are not original (original ones are not made any more), so check the needed size before you bid.
Suitable for most Sony WM* Walkmans, all
Panasonic RQ-S*, all Panasonic RQ-SX models, Aiwa, Sharp, Kenwood, Sony D6C, etc.
Models not covered: very early models using thicker belts, Sony WM-DD series
The most belts offered here on eBay or in various e-shops are too thick and therefore usable with restrictions only. Thicker belts are cheaper and easier to produce, but your walkman will be out of wow/flutter specs! Please, ask the seller about the belt thickness, elasticity and quality before you place bid. It took me more than a year to collect all information. I had to buy more than 300 walkmans to get accurate information about the belt size. Before I listed my belts, I tested each. The result: in 2015 I had no complaint about belt thickness or belt quality.
The belts offered by me are the same thick as original - only 0.5 TO 0.6 mm THICK. My belts are custom made, do not ask for original ones - these are not made anymore. Even if you find some, they will be old and unusable.
MY BELTS are NEW, maximum 2 years old. After 2 years, I will order new production.
The reason, why I sell the belts is, that I want to encourage people in keeping their old walkmans. That's why I SELL with ZERO profit, for the lowest-possible price. Do not ask me for discounts, the price per belt could be lower only if they were made and sold in tens of thousands. The sell price includes all eBay and PayPal fees, packing material and the belt itself. Generally, I do not accept returns. However, if the belt is defective, I will send you new one. If you ordered wrong belt, I will send you replacement of the correct size (if I have it) for the shipping cost only.
I also fix walkmans, please contact me if you need help. However, I'm quite busy so it can take several days until I answer.
Every day I get several tens of messages from buyers. I am very happy to help but I cannot manage to answer them all. I need several hours a day to answer them, which is not possible. If you have any questions related to walkman repairs, please visit tapeheads.net or stereo2go.com sites and ask experienced members, there. Answers are then available for everyone. I also contribute there. If you need belt which is not listed in my rich store, then it's because I don't know what is correct size for your specific player. Please, check there, first. If it is not listed there, measure the belt circumference by stretching a piece of string along the belt path. From this, I can calculate the original belt size. If you have any question related to orders, like shipment status, feel free to ask.

    FAQ section
Q: After I replace the belt, what else should I do?
A: You should at least set correct tape speed. Please go to http://www.ebay.com/itm/Speed-calibration-test-tape-for-cassette-deck-or-walkman-3000-Hz-/132264659421 for more details. For perfect results, you should also do cleanup, lubrications and other tasks.
Q: Walkman runs too slow or too fast, even after I replaced the belt.
A: This is not belt issue. This is old device and speed has to be re-adjusted. Please, see the previous answer
    Q: I can hear lot of wow/flutter
A: There can be many reasons for it.  Most often it is worn pinch roller, dirt in the belt path, dirty or dry moving parts of walkman, polished capstan, dry capstan bearings, wrong belt size or quality, etc.
Q: Do you also fix walkmans?
A: Yes, I’ve fixed many of them.  Usually for my friends and for me. I have about 400 of them. Sometimes I also fix walkmans  for eBay members.
Q: I need advice regarding fixing walkmans
A: I will be glad to answer and help. However, I get many questions every day, so it can take few days until I answer
Q: Do you also sell walkmans?
A: Not now, may be one day...
Q: What is the correct belt path routing?
A: Google search your walkman model and display result as images. Usually you will find photo of mechanics. If not, make your photo and send it to me. I will draw correct routing, there.
Q: My model is not listed, do you have belt for it?
A: If it is not listed, I probably have belt for this model, however I do not have information about the size. In this case, please measure the belt length. Stretch a piece of string along the belt path and measure the belt circumference. From this I can measure the original belt size.
Q: What belts do you sell?
A: I sell only hard-to-get belts used in later walkman models. Thicker belts used in early models should be available elsewhere.
Q: After I hit play button, I can hear only slight motor noise and then it stops. Is it belt issue, or is it something else?
A: Yes, it is very probably the belt issue.
Q: How long do belts usually last?
A: Usually about 20 years. It depends on the amount of additives added during vulcanization process. I tried to avoid using too much additives for increasing the material elasticity, so I hope the belt will last longer. But who knows...
