Herman Schlichting established his Dairy farm on Route 1 near Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin c1900
Herman and Bertha Schlichting's family of seven sons and two daughters supported the family dairy
Delivered milk, cream, buttermilk, and cottage cheese on local delivery routes
Operated until the 1960s
Carton manufactured by Cherry-Burrell Corporation
Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Design dates to 1930s
Around 1880, John G Cherry patented the first insulated cream cans
During the 1890s, David H Burrell introduced the first American centrifugal cream separator
In 1928, the two businessmen merged their companies to form the Cherry-Burrell Corporation
Within a year, Cherry-Burrell Corporation began patenting carton packaging equipment
Their packaging equipment is still produced today by Evergreen Packaging Equipment
While Cherry-Burrell packaging equipment is still in use, few cartons produced by the company survive
