It can be opened and closed, but the hinge pin is broken in one place.
The lid may float depending on how you open it. It's easy to fix and there's no problem playing it. I think you should open and close it gently with both hands.
(2) With the red headphones in the photo, there are some quirks such as muffled sound or hearing from only one side depending on how the jack is inserted. If you insert it all the way in and then pull it slightly toward you, you can hear it from both sides and it will be stable (headphones from other manufacturers can be heard without problems).
The ear pads of the headphones have deteriorated.
