Description
A wonderful handmade pair of figurines by the incredible Dianne Dengel. "PLAY BALL" features a batter and catcher. The batter is about 18" tall. He wears a yellow shirt, denim pants, painted on sneakers and holds a bat. His hair is blondish. He is signed on his back under his shirt and dated 1992. The other doll/figurine is the catcher squatting, ready to catch the ball. He is 14" tall in his squatting position. A great collectible pair for a baseball family. The batter can stand by himself; the catcher needs a backdrop or wall to support him. The catcher's mitt was also made by Dianne. This pair is adorable! From the estate of Dianne Dengel, a native of Rochester, NY. Dianne Dengel created her dolls & figurines to represent people as they are - clothing may have what look like dirt spots or the hair is mussed. Since she handmade each one, they are each imperfectly perfect. Any 'imperfection' in the doll was the way she wanted them. Diane passed away in 2012 so no more of these dolls will be made.
