Antique Vienna Art Plates American Ever Ready Company Tin Metal Advertising Plate
This plate is somewhat of an enigma. Ever Ready was born a flashlight and battery company, however this circa 1909 (per Hazelcorn) plate clearly promotes Ever Ready Lighters. Further, the artwork contains an ammunition round on the left and a lighter on the right. The historical information found for Ever Ready discusses neither ammunition or lighters in their product lines until the 1940s - 1950s when Eveready (well after changing the company name in 1914) did produce an array of lighters. Also, this plate is marked "Beach Art Display Coshocton, O." below the portrait. To date, this is the only Beach design that is found marked Beach Art Display.
